Renomedullary interstitial cell tumor is a benign neoplasm arising from the kidney. It is histologically characterized by the presence of spindle-shaped fibroblasts. Renomedullary interstitial cell tumours are common finding in adults and half these patients have more than one. They are usually asymptomatic.
Almost all renomedullary interstitial cell tumours are 1-5 mm in diameter and appear as white or pale grey nodules within a renal medullary pyramid. Rarely, they are larger and can form polypoid masses protruding into the renal pelvic cavity 1
