Mixed adenocarcinoma of the uterine corpus is a tumour arising from the endometrium. It is composed of malignant glandular epithelial cells and consists of a mixture of a type I (estrogen-dependent, endometrioid or mucinous) and a type II (non-estrogen-dependent, serous or clear cell) adenocarcinoma (the minor type must amount to at least 10% of the total tumour volume).
Mixed adenocarcinomas with a type II tumour fraction of 25% or more have a poor prognosis1
