An oligoastrocytoma with (apart from variably increased cellularity and nuclear pleomorphism) increased mitotic activity and/or microvascular proliferation. These tumors correspond to WHO grade III. High grade oligoastrocytic tumors with necrosis should be classified as glioblastoma with oligodendroglial component (GBM-O; WHO grade IV), even though these latter tumors may carry a somewhat better prognosis than 'standard glioblastomas'1
