. Some cells contain eosinophilic granular cytoplasm. Foci of conventional adenocarcinoma with mucin production are usually found and can distinguish primary carcinomas from metastatic clear cell carcinomas of the kidney. Exclusion of renal cell carcinoma is also accomplished by immunohistochemical labelling for PAX8 and RCC 5

. In some clear cell adenocarcinomas, the columnar cells contain subnuclear and supranuclear vacuoles similar to those seen in secretory endometrium. Production of α-fetoprotein has been documented in clear cell carcinomas with or without hepatoid differentiation 6

Prostate gland
ICD-O-3 topography code: C61
ICD10: C61

A malignant neoplasm composed of glandular epithelial clear cells. Various architectural patterns may be seen, including papillary, tubulocystic, and solid.

Corpus uteri
ICD-O-3 topography code: C54
ICD10: C54

Clear cell adenocarcinoma of the uterine corpus is a malignant neoplasm arising from the endometrium. It is composed mainly of clear or hobnail glandular epithelial cells. Various architectural patterns may be seen, including tubular, papillary, tubulocystic, and solid. The tumour cells are rich in glycogen and project into lumina and papillary spaces. The nuclei are large and highly pleomorphic. Occasionally, the cytoplasm is granular rather than clear.
Clear cell adenocarcinoma of the uterine corpus belongs to the group of non-estrogen-dependent tumours. It affects predominantly older patients and is frequently diagnosed in advanced clinical stages. The prognosis is poor

ICD-O-3 topography code: C53
ICD10: C53

Clear cell adenocarcinoma is a malignant neoplasm composed of glandular epithelial clear cells. Various architectural patterns may be seen, including papillary, tubulocystic, and solid.

Clear cell adenocarcinoma arises rarely in the cervix. Postmenopausal women are most often affected. In young women, there is an association with in utero exposure to diethylstilbestrol (DES)

. Clear cell carcinoma is composed predominantly or exclusively of polygonal cells with abundant clear cytoplasm, welldefined cytoplasmic membranes and centrally placed hyperchromatic nuclei. The cells are arranged in nests, cords or solid sheets and at least some contain cytoplasmic mucin, a useful feature that can distinguish it from renal cell carcinoma. Because of its rarity, the biological behaviour of clear cell carcinoma of the ampulla is unknown 13
