Angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma (AITL) is a peripheral T-cell lymphoma characterized by systemic disease and a polymorphous infiltrate with a prominent proliferation of high endothelial venules and follicular dendritic cells. There is a nearly constant association with Epstein Barr virus (EBV), but the neoplastic T cells are EBV negative

AITL accounts for approximately for 15−20% of peripheral T-cell lymphomas. It occurs in the middle aged and elderly and the clinical course is usually aggressive.
