Cervix uteri

/span>denomyoma is a benign neoplasm characterized by the presence of a glandular and a mesenchymal (fibromyomatous) component. It occurs predominantly in the uterine corpus and the cervix. The tumour typically presents as a polypoid submucosal lesion; rare cases may be intramural or subserosal.

Three variants of cervical adenomyoma have been described:

> le. The smooth muscle component predominates. Glands and stroma are bland.
