Mixed liposarcoma is a rare malignant neoplasm, characterized by the presence of a combination of liposarcomatous morphologic subtypes: myxoid /round cell and well differentiated/dedifferentiated liposarcoma or myxoid /round cell and pleomorphic liposarcoma.
Mixed-type liposarcomas appear to arise mainly in retroperitoneal or intraabdominal locations. Tumours are generally large, often multinodular masses; cystic and solid areas are common 1
